Sara Morrison finds ways to share her passions with everyone she meets. Her heart lies in the various communities in which she is involved and integrates them all into the karmic life she leads.
As the Membership Director of the San Diego History Center, she connected people and their communities to the story of San Diego’s past, present and future. Being a San Diego native motivates her to instill in people the importance of knowing the history of where they live.
She is currently on the board of So Say We All, whose mission is to create opportunities for individuals to tell their stories, and tell them better. She enjoys writing short stories but believes in the importance of being able to tell a story and tell it well.
She is personally invested in her own community as the Chair of the Festival of Arts in North Park. Over the last eight years she has helped organize the festival, annually held in May, that celebrates all types of art including music, dance, crafting, the “art” of crafting beer, visual arts and more! The festival’s proceeds benefit North Park Main Street, which is committed to supporting businesses in North Park while championing development that preserves the community’s historic integrity, supports art and culture, and promotes an urban, pedestrian-friendly community.
She can also be found skating with the San Diego Derby Dolls under the name “Karma Electra”. She joined the league as one of their first skaters in 2005 and continued her involvement through 2009. After taking four and a half years off to spend quality time with her family, she is now back on the track and ready to focus on skating again.
Right now, she has returned to school to obtain her Masters in Teaching and teaching credential at Point Loma Nazarene University with the goal of teaching physics and art to high school students.
As a creative Pisces, her talents range from art to music (mainly creating mixtapes, but occasionally writing songs on the ukelele) to writing.
